Looking to travel the world but don't have the funds to make that a reality? Central Oklahoma's upcoming theatrical season promises a whirlwind tour around the globe, from stops throughout the U.S. to many foreign countries.

It may be a vicarious journey but good theater can transport audiences to some fascinating destinations, all for a fraction of what it would cost to visit in person. This season's domestic offerings include stopovers in New York, Mississippi, Ohio, California, Texas, Illinois, New Jersey and Alabama.

For more exotic fare, there are plays offering visits to France, England, Siam, Austria, Spain, Germany, Italy and Liberia. Central Oklahoma's theater season also spans several centuries, from ancient Greece and 15th century France to Victorian England and modern-day Africa. As for subject matter, this season's productions tackle everything from war, street gangs and prejudice to the rise of feminism, male bonding and the war between the sexes. Throw in some mysteries, crime dramas and fairy tales and you have the makings of a first-rate eclectic season.

Most theaters offer discounts for season subscriptions. Others have plans that allow patrons flexibility to buy multiple tickets for one show or a single ticket to several shows. As always, shows and dates are subject to change.
