A third-year starter as a defensive lineman and tight end, Car Aguirre has been part of Hennessey's back-to-back Class 2A state championships. But his role will change a little this season as he moves from defensive end to tackle. Still, he'll be vital to Hennessey's pursuit of a third straight title.

Even though this team has won two straight championships, there are a lot of experienced players like you still around. Is there a good comfort level on the field because of that?

On the field, we have a brotherhood, IAMBK — I Am My Brother's Keeper. That's what we've been living and dying by for the last three or four years now. We have so much chemistry together, we know how each other plays and what each guy is going to do. That's what we expect as a brotherhood.

Do you feel the move to defensive tackle will be an easy transition for you?

I kind of liked it on the edge, but it's not that big of a deal. I'll do what I need to do. Our defensive line is definitely going to be one of the strong points of the defense. Everyone is a returning starter, so we should be pretty good up there.
