LAWTON — Authorities say a man has been arrested for allegedly throwing cell phones over a fence for inmates at the prison in Lawton.

Authorities say the man was arrested at about 2 a.m. Tuesday on the northwest corner of the privately run Lawton correctional facility. A local television station reports that surveillance video captured a man tossing eight cell phones over the fence.

Authorities say contraband phones sell for a high price within the prison. But Lawton police say everything thrown over the fence has been recovered.

The man's name has not yet been released.
