GUTHRIE — John Vance Auto Group unveiled its remodeled GMC dealership here Wednesday. The dealership at Exit 153 on Interstate 35 sells Cadillac, Buick and GMC vehicles. It was closed for several months while the store was rebuilt. John Vance also operates a Dodge dealership in Guthrie, a Chevrolet dealership in Perry and a Ford dealership in Miami.

Lawmakers introduce measure

U.S. Sens. Jim Inhofe, R-Tulsa, and Mark Pryor D-Ark., are teaming up on legislation to ease regulatory rules on fuel tanks for farmers. The two introduced a bill this week to amend the Environmental Protection Agency's Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure rule. In a statement, Inhofe says the measure ensures farmers won't have to “navigate this unnecessary regulatory process.” According to the EPA, farms have until May 10 to prepare and implement their plans under the rule. The rule applies to farms that store more than 1,320 gallons of fuel, oil or animal fat in aboveground containers or more than 42,000 gallons in buried containers, and if they could “reasonably expect” discharge into navigable waters or adjoining shorelines, such as lakes, rivers and streams.
