City council members are expected to vote Monday on a 2012 strategic plan to guide them on current and future projects.

The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. at 20 S Littler Ave.

Council members started working on the plan in January in an all-day session. Mayor Charles Lamb said the meeting gave them the opportunity to openly discuss the direction they would like to see Edmond take in the coming years.

The makeup of the council has changed in the last year since former Mayor Patrice Douglas left to become a state corporation commissioner.

The remaining council members then elected Lamb, the Ward 2 councilman, to complete Douglas' term, which ends in May 2013.

Darrell Davis was appointed to fill the vacant Ward 3 seat.

Ward 4 councilman David Miller resigned and Nick Massey was appointed to complete his term that ends May 2013.

Council members met for a second workshop in August.

The printed version is to be completed on Monday. The plan will include policies, performance targets, values and goals.

The top two goals named in the draft are to complete the public safety center and the hotel and conference center.

Council members also would like to design a plan for an additional public library.

Another goal is to implement the new parks master plan and continue with communitywide drainage master plan strategies and protect the environmental quality of the watershed.
