High fire danger Monday with temperature near 95 degrees in central Oklahoma

The high temperature in central Oklahoma will be near 95 degrees Monday. There is a red flag warning in effect for high fire danger.

A red flag warning for high fire danger has been issued by the National Weather Service for Oklahoma Monday.

The warning is in effect for western, central and southern Oklahoma from noon to 8 p.m.. Winds will gust up to 36 mph in central Oklahoma and up to 40 mph in western Oklahoma.

Monday will be a hot day in Oklahoma City with a high temperature near 95 degrees, the weather service reports.

There is a slight chance for rain Tuesday night.

The Oklahoma City forecast is as follows:

Monday: Mostly sunny with a high near 95. Windy with a south, southwest wind 9 to 14 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 36 mph.

Monday night: Partly cloudy with a low around 68. South, southwest wind 16 to 22 mph with gusts as high as 31 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny with a high near 92. Windy with a south, southwest wind 20 to 25 mph with gusts as high as 36 mph.

Tuesday night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy with a low around 67. South wind 16 to 18 mph with gusts as high as 25 mph.
