Edmond honors city employees at annual dinner

Edmond city employees and members of 26 city boards and commissions were honored during an appreciation dinner at the Downtown Community Center. About 300 people attended.

Awards and words of appreciation were in abundance during the annual dinner in honor of Edmond city employees and members of 26 boards and commissions.

About 300 employees and city volunteers turned out for the Brazilian-themed dinner with chicken and tenderloin.

About 200 people volunteer on city boards and commissions.

Three of those boards, the Stormwater Drainage Advisory Board, the Central Edmond Urban Development Board and the Board of Adjustments and Appeals, were spotlighted at the evening event at the Downtown Community Center.

The recognition was given by Mayor Charles Lamb.

These awards were given to city employees:

Anthony Wilson, fire department, continuous improvement.

Nicole Offutt, Arcadia Lake, leadership.

Melissa Vinson, human resources, mission impossible.

Barbara Howell, utility services, excellence of character.

Code enforcement officers Bill Fitzgerald, Terry Humphrey, Marsha Sirmon, Mike Chapman and Ivan Smith, customer service.
