Oklahoma State University Chi Omega raised $60, 134 for Make-A-Wish Oklahoma, the most money a college organization has raised for Make-A-Wish, through various events during Chi Omega Wish Week 2012.
Wish Week began Sept. 21, with Money Wars, followed by Wish Upon a Par, the Wish Week golf tournament and concluded with the Chi-O Dance-Off on Sept. 25 at Stillwater Community Center. Other events included Chi O Cravings, Frats at Bat and Fuzzy’s Taco Shop Day.
“It’s great to be able to help Make-A-Wish put smiles on these kids faces and truly make a difference in their lives by making their wishes come true!” said Allie Wilson, Chi Omega Wish Week Chair. “The ladies of Chi Omega love being a part of the magic.”
This was the 10th year OSU has hosted Wish Week benefitting Make-A-Wish Oklahoma, and Kandy Hadley, Director of Donor Relations, said she couldn’t be more thankful for the partnership Make-A-Wish has with Chi O.
“It’s an honor to see the enthusiasm and creativity from the ladies of Chi Omega who continually raise the bar on their financial support of wishes!” said Hadley.
“They give so much of their hearts to make the lives of wish kids better and do a wonderful job rallying other OSU students to be involved. We are so grateful for their continued support that gives our wish kids back some of what their illness has taken away — hope that good things still happen!”
Make-A-Wish Oklahoma serves children ages 2 ½ to 18 with life-threatening medical conditions living throughout Oklahoma and has granted more than 2,200 wishes since its inception in 1987.
