America fought and won World War II in only four years. President Obama has had four years to fix the economy. He hasn't done so. U.S. unemployment stands at 8.3 percent, which doesn't take into account the millions of Americans who've simply given up looking for work. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, since Obama took office in January 2009, 4.7 million Americans have given up on finding a job and are no longer being counted toward the unemployment rate. If they were counted — again, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics — the real unemployment rate would be 11.01 percent. And the underemployed rate would be up to 17.6 percent.
Obama doesn't know how to fix the economy. He's never worked in private business and doesn't understand how business works. Mitt Romney has worked in private business and does have an understanding of how businesses work and what it takes to create jobs. President Ronald Reagan in the early 1980s restored America to economic health by simplifying the tax code and by allowing for more deregulation of businesses. Under Reagan, the nation experienced a real job growth of 2.1 percent per year for each year he was in office.
We can expect similar economic recovery and a jobs creation success story under Romney.
