Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy told his players during Sunday night's workout, their first since a last-minute loss to No. 11 Texas, that their temperament needed to be better when they returned to the field Tuesday.

Gundy said following Tuesday's practice that the players delivered, putting together a solid session.

“Emotionally, they turned,” Gundy said. “Kids are resilient. But they're not fond of losing, so there's always that concern that there's a hangover. But I feel good about their attitude (Tuesday). I thought they really practiced well.

“The veteran players have to provide that leadership, emotionally, at this point, when you lose a game that's a close one and very emotional.”

With the Cowboys off this week, Gundy said Tuesday's practice mostly consisted of correcting mistakes made against the Longhorns, such as defending the deep ball and screen plays and improving in certain areas of the passing game. They will begin preparation for their Oct. 13 contest at Kansas on Thursday.
