Oklahoma Caring Vans, offering flu vaccinations for children at no charge, has scheduled several visits in the Oklahoma City metro area.

The Oklahoma Caring Vans will hold immunization clinics for children 6 weeks through 18 years old, including flu vaccinations. The Caring Van provides all immunizations required by Oklahoma law for enrollment in schools or child care.

Services are provided at no charge to children who are uninsured, underinsured, Medicaid eligible, or Native American.

Immunizations are given on a first come, first serve basis. For each child immunized, a parent or guardian must be present and provide records of previous immunizations and be present to complete paperwork.

All children are required to be current on their immunizations prior to child care or school entry. Each year, many children get sick with seasonal influenza. In the United States, flu season runs from October to May, with most cases occurring between December and March.
