Carl Albert 50-year anniversary celebration set

MIDWEST CITY -- Carl Albert is having a 50-year anniversary celebration for anyone who attended Carl Albert High School or Junior High.

Activites will include a homecoming parade at 1 p.m. Oct. 12, beginning at the Church of Christ on Douglas Boulevard, north of SE 15, then traveling down 15th Street to the high school. Contact high school staff for entry form and cost information.

The Class of 1983 -- The Carl Albert Basketball Program (coached by Alumni Jay Price and Tim Price) will be hosting a cookout from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 12 before the homecoming football game. Cost is $5.

Come by before the game and enjoying a burger, some chips, a drink and dessert. This event will be held in the lobby of the CA Fieldhouse. All proceeds go to CA Basketball.

Better yet, find a player between now and then and pre-purchase a ticket to reserve a spot and support that player. This will be a great venue in which to reunite and remember! Cheerleaders will be having an auction prior to the meal. All classes are invited.

The Class of 1965 is inviting alumni to Spencer's BBQ at 5 p.m. Oct. 12. You pay for your meal. You can RSVP at the email address listed below.

The Oct 12 football game begins at 7:30 p.m. Northwest Classen is the Carl Albert opponent.

There will be a school open house 9 to 11 a.m. Oct 13. Also that day, classes of the 1960s will have a get-together 1 to 3 p.m. at Soldier Creek Baptist Church, SE 15th and Douglas Boulevard.

If other years have no plans, they are invited. Participants should bring finger foods. RSVP at email listed below.

At 2 p.m. Oct 13 , classes from the 1970s are having a get-together at the Church of Christ, just north of SE 15 and Douglas Boulevard. Bring finger foods.
