The Oklahoman's Jenni Carlson took questions from readers in today's Power Lunch Chat. Participate in our Power Lunch Chats Monday-Friday at 11 a.m. on NewsOK.com/Sports. Below is an unedited transcript of the chat.

Jenni Carlson 10:26 a.m. Hey, everyone! I'll be back at 11 a.m. to start answering your questions, but you can start asking them now. Talk to you soon!
Jenni Carlson 10:57 a.m. Keep those questions coming, folks! We'll get started here in a few minutes.
guest 11:01 a.m. Why is there no coverage of the Guthrie vs Carl Albert game tonight in your paper? I dont think there has been one story about it this year.
Jenni Carlson 11:02 a.m. In our Five Minute Guide on Page 3, CA-Guthrie is one of the top games that we write about. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:02 a.m. No doubt it's one of the great games of the week and one of the best of the season. A great rivalry between two great programs. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:04 a.m. I have to admit that I can't speak for our HS beat writers, but probably the reason that we haven't written more about it is because of CA's record. If the Titans were better than 1-4, we'd likely have hyped the game more.
Dave 11:04 a.m. Jenni, who's the best lawn darts player among the sports crew? lol
Jenni Carlson 11:05 a.m. Ha ha! This comment comes from our chatter before we launched our Friday Football Hangout. We were talking lawn darts, for reasons unknown to me. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:05 a.m. Now, we're on to football. Hope you all will come join us on the hangout while I'm chatting.
harry man 11:05 a.m. why does your sports editor not wear a tie
Jenni Carlson 11:05 a.m. More hangout fun! ...
Jenni Carlson 11:06 a.m. I can't tell you, Harry Man. Maybe you should email him and ask him. He's at msherman@opubco.com. :)
Guest 11:06 a.m. What is Harden going to do? If there is a decent chance that he is leaving, why would he talk about sacrifice and brotherhood? That rhetoric could come back to bite him if he leaves because I think most Thunder fans would be upset if he left, but would understand if it was for obvious financial reasons. Maybe not so much if he says one thing and then does another
Jenni Carlson 11:07 a.m. To answer your first question, my feeling is that he won't re-sign with the Thunder. I just think the money is too far apart for them to do a deal. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:07 a.m. On your second question, I'm not sure why he decided to sound such a positive note during Thunder media day earlier this week. It wasn't something he NEEDED to do. Maybe that means he's more hopeful than most of us. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:10 a.m. But here's the truth: even if he ultimately goes somewhere else, angering Thunder fans won't matter a bit. He will be gone. He will have a big contract. The hurt feelings of Thunder fans will be the least of his worries.
harry man 11:10 a.m. why does the daily oklahoman have the same people on this live talk. WHY
Jenni Carlson 11:10 a.m. It's columnists and lead beat writers. That's WHY, Harry Man. ;)
Max 11:10 a.m. When is the last time OU/Bob Stoops as recruited a white Wide Receiver
Jenni Carlson 11:11 a.m. Not sure, Max, and I'm not sure why it matters. In fact, it doesn't. So I'll leave it at that.
Dave 11:11 a.m. Here's a link that includes a preview: http://okne.ws/SP3sXA
Jenni Carlson 11:11 a.m. There ya go, folks. Come join us.
Shutt 11:11 a.m. Wish we could vie these G+ Hangouts via G+.
Jenni Carlson 11:12 a.m. I have to admit, Shutt, I don't know about the technology that's out there. I'll mention your comment to our tech people, though, and see what can be done.
Tyler 11:13 a.m. Morning!!
Jenni Carlson 11:13 a.m. Hey, Tyler! Thanks for joining us.
Max 11:13 a.m. Are we really talking football or is this just goofy nonsense time
Jenni Carlson 11:13 a.m. Well, Max, we can talk about anything. But I have to admit, I think your question about white receivers might be the goofiest nonsense so far.
Shutt 11:14 a.m. How well ranked (if at all) is Lawton Eisenhower?
Jenni Carlson 11:14 a.m. Shutt, I'm not sure. I don't have our HS rankings in front of me. Let me check. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:15 a.m. Sorry, this might take a second. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:16 a.m. Lawton Mac in No. 9 in our latest rankings in Class 5A.
harry man 11:16 a.m. did anyone of these writers watch the presidents debate
Jenni Carlson 11:16 a.m. I can't speak for everyone else, but I watched the debate.
Tyler 11:18 a.m. My Irish is playing Western Heights tonight they will be 6-0 after tonight
Jenni Carlson 11:19 a.m. Sure looks that way, Tyler. McGuinness is No. 4 in our rankings in Class 5A. Obviously, it's a very tough classification, but it sure looks like the Irish has a team capable of contending for a title.
Jenni Carlson 11:19 a.m. Keep those questions coming, folks. I'm happy to talk about anything!
Jenni Carlson 11:20 a.m. One other thing: I hope everyone had a chance to see our Barry Switzer birthday extravaganza today. All I know is that I hope to one day have a birthday extravaganza!
Roger 11:20 a.m. Tough classification in terms of parity or in terms of strength.
Jenni Carlson 11:21 a.m. I'd say both, Roger. Guthrie, Tulsa East Central, Deer Creek and McGuinness are at the top of Class 5A. All four of those teams look really, really strong. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:23 a.m. But if you look at the rest of the class with Coweta, Del City, Lawton Mac, Carl Albert and more, there are definitely teams that could bounce any of those top teams. That's the parity. ...
Jenni Carlson 11:23 a.m. Class 5A looks pretty darn tough to me.
Chris 11:23 a.m. Will the DO apologize for DM's article on Royce White? I like DM but thought the article was pretty sad. It's also now been picked up by CBS Sports, Sports Nation and other sports sites gaining alot of negative publicity of OK and the DO
Jenni Carlson 11:23 a.m. Um, I don't know of any forthcoming apologies. You'd have to check with Mike Sherman, our sports editor.
Roger 11:24 a.m. Seems like it falls off pretty quickly after that, though. No doubt it is competitive.
Jenni Carlson 11:25 a.m. Roger, I'd disagree. I think Class 5A is pretty good beyond those first four teams. It's darn good at the top, but there are several other teams that could bounce them.
Shutt 11:25 a.m. I didn't realize that the apology was disputed.
Jenni Carlson 11:26 a.m. The Big 12 put something on its Twitter account, but it sounds like semantics to me.
harry man 11:26 a.m. the daily oklahoman should have had barry switzer on the show
Jenni Carlson 11:26 a.m. That'd be a hoot.
Dave 11:26 a.m. MLB should apologize for first round playoffs home field situation. Better record starts on road for first two games? Not good.
Jenni Carlson 11:27 a.m. Dave, an apology that could definitely be due. Baseball does some of the goofiest stuff in sports.
Jenni Carlson 11:27 a.m. And it wonders why the NFL and NBA have bypassed it.
Guest 11:27 a.m. How is Barry 75? He looks 45
Jenni Carlson 11:27 a.m. Switzer has aged well. I'm not sure he looks 45, but he sure doesn't look 75.
Roger 11:28 a.m. In 6A, do the western teams believe there might be a crack in the Union/Jenks armor this year?
Jenni Carlson 11:28 a.m. Maybe a bit of a crack, but it sure seems to me that this season will end the way so many before it have -- with an Eastside team winning 6A.
Guest 11:28 a.m. DM has already mea culpa'd on his Royce White story
Jenni Carlson 11:30 a.m. I'm obviously not following the Royce White story as close as you are. Again, if you want to know what we might do, you'll need to check with Mike Sherman.
Jenni Carlson 11:30 a.m. OK, folks, I've got to wrap up. Ed Godfrey is coming up with an Outdoors chat. Enjoy!
