Willie Nelson railroad revival tour canceled

FROM STAFF REPORTS | Published: October 6, 2012

The 2012 Railroad Revival Tour starring Willie Nelson and Band of Horses has been canceled. The tour had been scheduled to present a concert Oct. 23 at Downtown Air Park in Oklahoma City.

Ticket holders will receive a full refund, to be processed by Oct. 21.

In a statement released Friday, organizers said certain complications would not permit them to host the shows “in the manner intended, and that the bands and fans deserved.”

A vintage 1940s passenger train had been scheduled to carry the performers to eight cities across the country, where a portable concert stage would be erected near the railroad tracks at each stop.

Jamey Johnson and actor-singer John C. Reilly were also scheduled to perform.
