— People with hearing and vision loss will meet Friday and Oct. 13 for a conference featuring experts in the field of deaf-blindness.

“You Can Do It! Advocacy and Self-Determination, Keys to Your Future!” is scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Reed Conference Center at 5750 Will Rogers Road in Midwest City.

Participants will be able to network with others who experience the same challenges and successes, and become better informed about advocacy skills, technology for people with dual sensory loss, and companies that sell various adaptive products.

Conference organizers are seeking volunteers to serve as support service providers. Those who are interested must apply and be selected based on skill levels.

The conference agenda and more information are available on the Sight-Hearing Encouragement Program's website at www.shep-ok.org.

Participants and potential support service providers are encouraged to preregister on the website or call 445-7152.
