Three Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Junior College football players remain suspended after being charged with kidnapping and robbery in association with the break-in of a Miami, OK, home.

Christopher Lamont Carter, 18, of Oklahoma City; Jaiari Kristov Dunaway, 19, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; and Deion Fipps, 20, of Tulsa were charged Tuesday in Ottawa County District Court in Miami with robbery with firearm and extortion by kidnapping. They are free on $50,000 bail, the sheriff's department confirmed.

The men are accused of going to the residence of Kevin Perdomo and Shandeeh Pedra on Sept. 25 and stealing $2,000 cash and one ounce of marijuana.

After the men entered the house, Fipps told deputies Carter put a silver pistol to Pedra's head, according to an arrest affidavit. Perdomo ran into his bedroom and opened a safe that contained the money and drugs. Perdoma was told to get into the closet by Carter who was waiving a gun at him, the affidavit states.

Carter confessed to the theft of money and drugs but denied having a gun or using a gun during the robbery, the affidavit states.

The men will remain suspended from the football team during the course of the investigation, said Katie Dewey, NEO spokeswoman. All three have been removed from the team's online football roster.

STANDISH DECIDES TO RETIRE

The Oklahoman reported in its Tuesday editions that former Oklahoma City Blazers star Marty Standish signed to play for the Tulsa Oilers, which would mark his 14th season in professional hockey. A new job opportunity can change the course of life in a hurry, however. On Wednesday, Standish announced he would retire.
