Commissioner reappointed

Gov. Mary Fallin has reappointed Rick Armstrong to the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission for a six-year term, expiring Dec. 31, 2018. Armstrong, of Tulsa, is vice president and general manager of FlightSafety International in Broken Arrow. He's served on the commission since 2008.

Laredo Petroleum stock sale set

Affiliates of Warburg Pincus LLC are selling 12.5 million shares of common stock in Laredo Petroleum Holdings Inc., the Tulsa-based energy company announced Monday. Underwriters of the secondary public offering will be able to purchase up to 1.875 million additional shares. Laredo will not receive any proceeds from the sale.

OSU school gets Nasdaq award

The Riata Center for Entrepreneurship in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University was selected to receive the Nasdaq Center of Entrepreneurship Excellence Award this past weekend. The award recognizes the achievements and efforts of top entrepreneurship centers across the world. The award has been presented annually since 2000 by Nasdaq in association with the Global Consortium of Entrepreneurship Centers. The consortium is the premier organization for university and collegiate entrepreneurship centers with nearly 300 members attending its national conference each year. Nola Miyasaki, director of OSU's Riata Center for Entrepreneurship, accepted the award during the consortium's annual conference in Washington. “It's even more rewarding when peers across the nation select your program as the best,” said Larry Crosby, dean of the Spears School. Nominations are submitted by previous recipients, and judging by a panel of Nasdaq winners and Nasdaq executives. The OSU entrepreneurship program is one of the youngest to receive the Nasdaq award.
