Anti-domestic violence film to be screened in Oklahoma City

“Telling Amy's Story” follows timeline of domestic violence homicide

The YWCA will screen the film “Telling Amy's Story” at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Myriad Gardens, 301 W Reno Ave.

The on-screen host of the film is actress and advocate Mariska Hargitay, and the story is told by Detective Deirdri Fishel, according to the film's website, www.telling.psu.edu.

“Telling Amy's Story” follows the timeline of a domestic violence homicide that occurred Nov. 8, 2001.

Carol Stoops, wife of University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops, is scheduled to speak at the event.

Jan Peery, CEO of the YWCA, will break down the statistics of domestic violence in Oklahoma City, according to a news release.
