Rain chances begin Wednesday in Oklahoma City, continue into weekend

Oklahoma City is expected to get rain before the week is out.

A chance of rain begins Wednesday night in Oklahoma City and continues into the weekend.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 20 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms beginning late and continuing overnight. Wednesday's high is expected to be near 71 degrees. The overnight low is forecast at 57 degrees.

The 20 percent rain chance continues Thursday and increases to 40 percent Thursday evening. Temperatures will be warmer Thursday, with a high of about 82 degrees. The best chance for rain will be Friday and Saturday.

The forecast for Oklahoma City is:

Thursday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, with cloudy skies and a high near 82 degrees. The overnight low will be around 65 degrees as rain chances increase to 40 percent.

Friday: Cloudy skies with a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms and a high near 83 degrees. Rain chances will decrease to 20 percent Friday night, with a low of about 65 degrees.

Saturday: Rain chances increase to 60 percent, with some storms bringing heavy rainfall. The high should be near 77 degrees. Rain chances are 20 percent Saturday night, with an expected low of about 56 degrees.
