College football: Miami has Larry Fedora's North Carolina squad on upset alert

By Berry Tramel Published: October 12, 2012

Only three teams remain unbeaten in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and they are not the usual suspects – Miami 3-0, Duke 2-0, Maryland 1-0.

North Carolina would join the list if not for a 28-27 loss at Wake Forest. Ex-OSU offensive coordinator Larry Fedora has the Tar Heels playing better. UNC popped Virginia Tech 48-34 last week and staged an epic rally before losing 39-34 at Louisville on Sept. 15.

Meanwhile, Miami has suffered two blowout losses, 52-13 at Kansas State and 41-3 to Notre Dame in Chicago. But the Hurricanes have navigated three tight ACC victories, over Boston College, Georgia Tech and North Carolina State.

Now Miami is a 6 1/2-point underdog at home to Carolina. Seems like the wrong team is favored. Let's go with the Hurricanes in the upset.
