High school football: Yukon in good shape for a 2-5 team
The Millers earned their second win Friday night, 35-13 over Moore to improve to 2-2 in District 6A-4, and they know the playoffs are still within reach.

YUKON — Nobody is excited about being 2-5 at this point in the season, but not many two-win teams are in as good a position as Yukon.

The Millers earned their second win Friday night, 35-13 over Moore to improve to 2-2 in District 6A-4, with help from senior running back A.J. West.
West, playing his first season of football since junior high, had a 97-yard touchdown run and accounted for the majority of Yukon's 298 rushing yards as he nears the 1,000-yard mark for the season.
The Millers suffered tough losses to Norman North and Edmond North, games they led in the second half before faltering.
Despite their record, the Millers have kept a positive outlook on the season, knowing the playoffs are still within reach.
“We've kept our heads up,” West said. “We know we just have to work hard through the week to be able to go win on Fridays. We had a couple games we were winning, but couldn't finish.
