OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Police in Stillwater say the death of an Oklahoma State University student does not appear to be the result of foul play — but they are awaiting a ruling from the state medical examiner on the cause of death.

Capt. Randy Dickerson says officers were called by the roommate of 22-year-old David Brumfield of Plano, Texas, who found Brumfield unresponsive in their apartment. Brumfield was taken to a local hospital, then to an Oklahoma City hospital where he died Monday afternoon.

OSU Fraternity and Sorority Association Manager Ival Gregory says Brumfield was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity but did not live in the fraternity house.

OSU spokesman Gary Shutt says there is no indication that Brumfield had been to a party before his death.
