Jeff Tedford is the most successful Cal-Berkeley coach of the last 50 years. He's got more victories, 82, and more games, 134, than any coach in Golden Bear history.

But Cal's program has stagnated. The Bears went 10-2 in 2004 and 10-3 in 2006 but haven't finished in the AP top 25 since 2006.

Cal has gone 5-7 and 7-6 the last two seasons, and this year the Bears are 3-4, despite playing Ohio State and Southern Cal relatively tough.

Cal hosts arch-rival Stanford on Saturday, and with Washington, Oregon and Oregon State waiting on the schedule, the Bears will be hard-pressed to make a bowl without an upset of Stanford. Tedford has done a good job at Cal, but another losing season could make his time short.
