Oklahoma State football: Wes Lunt returns to start at QB against TCU
STILLWATER — Wes Lunt returned from a left knee/ankle injury to start at quarterback for Oklahoma State Saturday against TCU in his first game action since sustaining the injuries on Sept. 15.
Lunt, a true freshman, was named the starter following spring football but was injured on OSU’s first drive against Louisiana-Lafayette in Week 3. J.W. Walsh had started the Cowboys’ last three games in Lunt’s absence, but sustained a season-ending knee injury during OSU’s 31-10 victory over Iowa State last week.
On the season, Lunt has completed 68 percent of his passes for 588 yards, four touchdowns and three interceptions. In his only full game this season, Lunt set a Big 12 freshman record with 436 passing yards against Arizona.
Redshirt junior Clint Chelf is the Cowboys’ backup quarterback against the Horned Frogs.
