Does Cowboy coach Mike Gundy expect to see Moore on the field again this season?

“I don't know,” Gundy said. “I thought they were actually going to do surgery, and now they've backed up on that and said that he didn't need it. I don't know.

“He's got one of those injuries that they put in a boot and take him out every five days and they test whatever it is they test, and then they either move him to the next stage or put him back in a boot. He was in a cast for a while. Tough deal.”

If Moore is unable to return in 2012, there is an odd possible consolation for the Cowboys. The senior would be eligible to apply for a medical redshirt,

Since he was suspended for OSU's opener against Savannah State for violating team rules, Moore would meet the NCAA criteria for a medical redshirt: participating in less than 30 percent of contests and not playing in the second half of the season.

A question, however: would Moore want to return for another season?

“I don't know for sure what he would do or what he would want to do,” Gundy said.

SHARP HONORED BY BIG 12

Cowboys kicker and punter Quinn Sharp was named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week.

Sharp tied a school record of five field goals in OSU's 36-14 win over TCU. He also booted seven of nine kickoffs for touchbacks and averaged 43 yards on five punts.

“It's a good feeling,” Sharp said. “I had a little bit of a down game against Iowa State, missing those two field goals. I was hitting the ball well all day, but I just had a couple of mishits.
