Women's college basketball: Oklahoma, Oklahoma State ranked in preseason coaches' poll

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State' s women's basketball teams will open the 2012-2013 season ranked in the coaches' Top 25.

The Sooners are ranked 14th in the USA Today coaches' poll released Thursday. Oklahoma State is 24th in the poll, marking the first time the Cowgirls will begin the season ranked since 2008-09.

The Cowgirls, who captured the WNIT championship last season, return all five starters, including reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year Liz Donohoe and All-Big 12 second team selection Tiffany Bias.

The Sooners return all five starters from last season and seven total players. The team is led by senior Whitney Hand and junior Aaryn Ellenberg, who were both selected as All-Big 12 First team members.

Baylor, the 2012 NCAA champions, was selected as preseason No. 1.

Other Big 12 schools ranked in the top 25 include No. 22 West Virginia and No. 25 Kansas.
