'Croatian Sensation' will perform in concert in Norman

Radoslav Lorkovic, also known as “The Croatian Sensation,” will be featured in concert at the Santa Fe Depot in Norman on Sunday.

— Radoslav Lorkovic, also known as “The Croatian Sensation,” will perform in concert at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Santa Fe Depot, 200 S Jones Ave. Tickets are $15.

The concert is sponsored by the Performing Arts Studio as part of its Winter Wind concert series.

Lorkovic draws on influences ranging from classical and jazz to blues, country and soul. He sings and performs on the piano and accordion. He has released six solo albums and performed with numerous artists in person or on their recordings.

Born in Zagreb, Croatia, Lorkovic was influenced at an early age by his grandmother, a classical pianist. By age 3, he was performing for family and friends. He moved to the United States when he was 6 and began touring at age 20 with Grammy-nominated producer and guitarist Bo Ramsey.

Lorkovic tours the world and has appeared at folk and blues festivals, the Prairie Home Companion and Carnegie Hall.
