In response to Ron Thorson (Your Views, Oct. 29): While I can appreciate a friend standing up for another friend, in this case Brian Staples falsified records in order to pass kids who were failing, thus putting his school in a better position for more federal and state money. If a teacher didn't go along with changing grades, Staples deliberately gave them a bad observation report to make them appear to be disgruntled teachers in case it was ever reported.

Staples may have been wonderful at Classen School of Advanced Studies, but that doesn't make up for him harming the kids in his charge, running off good teachers who wouldn't operate under falsified conditions, and breaking the law.
