As expected, Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy returned to his tight-lipped ways Sunday night, not offering an update on injured starting quarterback Wes Lunt.

“I'm really not commenting on anything at the quarterback position,” Gundy said.

Lunt left Saturday's 44-30 loss to No. 2 Kansas State early in the third quarter, following a drive in which he took a hit after delivering a screen pass to Joseph Randle. Lunt appeared hobbled after the blow yet stayed in the game for two more plays, but he did not return after that possession ended with Lunt's third interception.

Cowboy Radio Network sideline reporter Robert Allen reported during the game broadcast that Lunt was nauseous and had 'glassy eyes' while being examined by the OSU medical staff on the sideline.

Clint Chelf replaced Lunt and completed 16 of his 27 passes for 233 yards, one touchdown and one interception. And offensive coordinator Todd Monken hinted after the game that Chelf might need to be ready to make his first collegiate start against West Virginia Saturday afternoon at Boone Pickens Stadium.

“I'm happy that he got an opportunity (to play Saturday night), and there's probably a good chance he'll have another opportunity coming this week,” Monken said.

OSU-WEST VIRGINIA KICKOFF TIME SET

OSU's contest against West Virginia on Saturday will kick off at 2:30 p.m. at Boone Pickens Stadium.

The game will be televised on ABC, or on ESPN2 outside of ABC's regional coverage area.

This will be the first meeting between the Cowboys and Mountaineers as Big 12 opponents. West Virginia (5-3, 2-3 Big 12) has lost three consecutive conference games to Texas Tech, K-State and TCU.
