Oklahoma football: Bob Stoops praises Sooners' 'Cali Trio'
The Oklahoman's Jenni Carlson, Jason Kersey and Stephanie Kuzydym provided live coverage from Bob Stoops' OU football press conference today via Twitter. It followed OU's 35-20 win over Iowa State. OU takes on the Baylor Bears on Saturday in Norman. Kickoff has been set for 2:30 p.m.
Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops praised the Sooners' California connection for their performance in Saturday's win over Iowa State.
The Cali Trio -- Brennan Clay, Tony Jefferson and Kenny Stills -- had a big time performance vs. the Cyclones.
* Clay, filling in for an injured Damien Williams, rushed for 157 yards and a touchdown.
* Stills had six catches for 92 yards and two touchdowns.
* Jefferson led the Sooners' defense with nine tackles and an interception.
Stoops said the Sooners get a boost in recruiting in California when those players play well.
Next up for Oklahoma is a Saturday home date with Baylor. Kickoff has been set for 2:30 p.m. and the game will be televised on Fox Sports.
