Second OU athlete accuses Ohio man of stalking

Naasik Ferdous, 21, was jailed Oct. 17 after he admitted to police that he was traveling to Norman to kill OU women's soccer player Kelsey Devonshire, the team's goalie.

Court records show that Ferdous was stalking Devonshire since at least early 2011.

Ferdous, who remains in custody at the Cleveland County jail, was apparently stalking OU gymnast Sara Stone around the same time as Devonshire, according to a petition for protective order filed by the young woman on Oct. 26.

In the petition, which is short and lacks many details, Stone states that Ferdous wrote in an Oct. 13 email that he “should have” sexually assaulted her.

“He has maintained knowledge of where I am from and currently live,” Stone writes in the petition. “He knows where I go to school and my relationships. He knows how to locate me.”

Lt. Bruce Chan, a spokesman for the OU Police Department, said university police received a complaint from Stone regarding Ferdous' stalking behavior but he wouldn't comment on whether the gymnast was notified when the suspect was spotted on campus Oct. 17.

Ferdous was eventually arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit an act of violence and stalking due to the stalking and threatening behavior he exhibited toward Devonshire. Additional charges in Cleveland County have not been filed.
