Recount's cost

The cost to seek a recount of the House District 45 race is $2,100, state Election Board Secretary Paul Ziriax said.

“We have the recount petition drafted and the money ready to go in case she files for a recount,” said Stiles, R-Norman. “We'll be right in behind her.”

Stiles won 50.1 percent of the vote in his race with Paula Roberts. With all 11 precincts reporting, Stiles, who was elected to the House in 2010, won by 18 votes out of more than 13,000 ballots cast.

Stiles received 6,786 votes while Roberts, of Norman, got 6,768.

The Cleveland County Election Board meets Friday to review 72 provisional ballots that were cast in the race.

Provisional ballots are cast by voters without the required identification at the polls.

Voters sign a sworn statement and cast a provisional ballot, which is included in the final election tally only if it is determined they are registered to vote in that precinct.

Provisional ballots will not count if they were cast by nonregistered voters.
