NORMAN — Yukon receiver Codey Sanchez was a problem for Norman in Week 4.

On Thursday, though, Norman defensive back Boston Lewis held the 6-foot senior to one catch, and the Tigers' rushing attack accounted for 446 yards en route to a 38-13 victory to open the Class 6A football playoffs at Harve Collins Field.

“That's when I knew had to press him,” Lewis said about Sanchez's 8-yard reception on the Millers' opening drive. “That's the first time I had backed off and I had backed up, and after that I was like, ‘No more, just press him.' And no more catches after that.”

It's Norman's first playoff victory since 2002, snapping a seven-game playoff losing streak.

Norman plays the winner of Sapulpa and Owasso next week. Owasso eliminated the Tigers from the playoffs the past two seasons.

As big as the Tigers' defense was Thursday, their offense was nearly flawless on the ground.

Imond Robinson opened the game with an 80-yard touchdown and finished with 223 yards on 18 carries.

A'erion Hines scored twice and finished with 111 yards on 17 carries. Quarterback Zach Long also carried the ball six times for 101 yards, and two of his three pass completions went for touchdowns to Jakcob Dean.
