Not much was expected out of Oregon State this season. Mike Riley's momentum (36 wins in four years, 2006-09) was gone. The Beavers were 5-7 and 3-9 the previous two years.

But Oregon State has been consistently good this season. The Beavers are 7-1 and ranked 11th. Now they play at 14th-ranked Stanford in a Pac-12 elimination game.

Oregon State has beaten Wisconsin, UCLA, Arizona, Brigham Young and Arizona State. The middle three were on the road.

Meanwhile, Stanford, too, has played well, losing only at Washington (same as Oregon State) and to Notre Dame on a disputed call in overtime.

But the Cardinal hasn't been dominant home. Close calls over San Jose State, Arizona and Washington State. Stanford is favored by 5 1/2 points, but let's go with Oregon State in the upset.
