On friendly employer list

Two Oklahoma City oil and natural gas companies were named this week to the G.I. Jobs Military Friendly Employers list. The list includes 100 companies that have made the greatest effort to hire military veterans, according to a survey by G.I. Jobs magazine. Chesapeake Energy Corp. was No. 43 on the list, followed by Devon Energy Corp. at No. 57. They were the only Oklahoma companies on the list. Chesapeake made the list for the third time, while Devon made its debut this year. Devon CEO John Richels said veterans fit well in the company's workplace culture. “These professionals bring integrity, good character and a strong work ethic, all attributes we seek in hiring the best people. We are very proud of this achievement,” he said.
