VINITA — A Vinita woman with a history of domestic violence will stand trial in the shooting death of her husband, court officials said Tuesday.
Glendora Beisley, 48, is accused of fatally shooting John Beisley on July 27 at their rural Craig County home.
Records show the couple had a long history of domestic violence.
Glendora Beisley was in Craig County District Court on Thursday for a preliminary hearing on charges of first-degree murder or, in the alternative, second-degree felony murder.
She was charged with assault with a deadly weapon in April 2010, but the charge was dismissed six months later after a witness failed to appear in court, records show.
She was convicted in 2005 of assaulting John Beisley with a 45-caliber handgun.
John Beisley was charged in May 2005 with domestic assault and battery, a misdemeanor. That charge was dropped in December, court records show.
Prosecutors filed the alternative charge because Beisley had a gun, which as a felon she was not permitted to have.
She is being held in the Craig County jail with bail set at $800,000.
