Twelve people will graduate tonight during ceremonies for the Bridge to Life Program, a holistic approach to recovery by treating the mind, body and soul.
The event will be at 7 p.m. at City Rescue Mission, 800 W California Ave.
The Bridge to Life Program exists for the purpose of helping adult men, women and families between the ages of eighteen and ninety-nine become free from addictions and other life controlling problems by offering an effective and comprehensive holistic based recovery program as an alternative to mainstream drug and alcohol treatment centers.
City Rescue Mission ministers to an average of 470 homeless men, women and children in the Oklahoma City metro area each day.
The holistic approach to recovery utilized at the Mission treats the mind, body and soul of each client. The vision of the Bridge to Life Program is to produce graduates who are self-sufficient, successful, productive, and a functional part of society.
At the mission, staff members treat the body with free medical, dental, vision and basic needs like a hot shower and hygiene skills. Its Social Services Center provides clients with a variety of resources available to help them succeed at life outside of the mission.
The mission partners with approximately 70 outside agencies that provide medical, dental, vision, veteran’s benefits, counseling, job placement and skills, GED training and computer skills.
