Gov. Mary Fallin on Monday announces the results of the third annual Feeding Oklahoma Food and Fund Drive. The drive exceed its goal by raising $359,611 and 823,278 pounds of food. That equates to 2.6 million meals, the governor's office reported. The goal of the drive was to generate 1.2 million meals.

The goal of the food drive, which concluded on Nov. 15, was to raise enough food and funding to provide 1.2 million meals to help feed hungry families in Oklahoma this holiday season. According to the USDA, Oklahoma ranks as the fifth-hungriest state in the nation, with more than 675,000 Oklahomans struggling with hunger every day. The Oklahoma food banks provide enough food to feed more than 150,000 people each week with demand increasing during the holiday season.
