The lighted Christmas parade and opening ceremonies start at 6 p.m. The parade is followed by the announcement of the 2013 territorial mayor.

“To get away from the city and take a step back in time, come visit us in Guthrie,” City Manager Sereniah Breland said. “Guthrie is an exciting place during the Christmas holiday.”

During the monthlong Territorial Christmas Celebration, visitors can experience Victorian architecture, activities and entertainment, including window scenes celebrating life in territorial Guthrie.

Candlelight trolley tours on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings in December take visitors through the streets of downtown Guthrie and historic neighborhoods. Departures are at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. in front of the Oklahoma Publishing Museum and cost $3 per person.
