A supervisor with the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center police department resigned Tuesday amid allegations he assaulted another man at a party for swingers.
Dustin John Markgraf, 38, of Oklahoma City, was charged Nov. 5 in Oklahoma County District Court with aggravated assault and battery, court records show.
Markgraf resigned from the department where he had worked as a police officer since 1997, a University of Oklahoma spokeswoman said.
He had been on administrative leave for several weeks, the spokeswoman said.
Markgraf and another man, Michael Shane Robertson, 42, of Pauls Valley, are accused of assaulting Brian Nipper, of Edmond, at a “lifestyle party” in Oklahoma City on April 29, according to a probable cause affidavit.
Nipper and his wife were among those who attended the gathering at a city hotel characterized by prosecutors as a partner-swapping party where couples had sex with other couples.
According to the affidavit, Nipper started arguing with another member of the party and was asked to leave, but refused.
Markgraf was among those who attempted to remove Nipper from the hotel and placed him in an “arm-bar” hold to subdue him.
