— A Murray County woman was sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to charges involving a nursing home drug ring, court officials said Monday.

Carrie Ann Billings, 42, of Sulphur, pleaded guilty Nov. 27 in Murray County District Court to conspiracy and obtaining a controlled dangerous substance. Other charges against her were dropped, court records show.

Because of health issues, Billings will report to the county jail Jan. 15 to begin serving her sentence, court records show.

In related cases, Allen Eugene Collins, 46; Melanie Annette Kirby, 40; Jackie A. Alexander, 62; and Sierra Danielle Williams, 23, all of Sulphur, waived their rights to a preliminary hearing. Their hearings were scheduled to start Monday.

Mackenzie Digby, 30, of Sulphur, and Angela Ford, 34, of Ada, will have preliminary hearing this week, court officials said.

They all were charged with multiple counts ranging from drug violations to conspiracy to distribute.

The women, former employees of Callaway Nursing Home, are accused of calling in fraudulent hydrocodone prescriptions for residents.

The employees were dismissed when the charges were filed, said Sam Jewell, Callaway Nursing Home president.

Collins was charged with attempting to obtain Lortab with intent to distribute.

An audit indicated more than 9,000 doses of controlled substances were diverted by employees. has disabled the comments for this article.
