Visitors can get a closer look at the Christmas decorations during the Edmond Electric Parade of Lights, scheduled for 6:45 p.m. Saturday.

The annual Mayor's Tree Lighting will start at 6 p.m. Saturday at Shannon Miller Park with the 2012 Mayor's Essay Contest winner presentation.

This year's essay theme was “If you were Cindy Lou Who, what would you do to convince the Grinch not to steal Christmas and help his heart grow three sizes too big?”

The winner will ride in the parade that starts from the UCO campus and continues through downtown.
