The free event will showcase more than 800 Nativity scenes from around the world.

Carin Christensen, of Edmond, director of this year's exhibit, said that people of different faiths from throughout the metro area have loaned their Nativity scenes for the exhibit. Volunteers are working to decorate rooms inside the church with the Nativity scenes. Christensen said the end result will be a colorful, seasonal celebration of the birth of Jesus.

Visitors may take self-guided tours through the exhibit. A cantata of Christmas songs and readings also will be presented at 7 p.m. each day. Cantata attendees will be welcome to view the exhibit following the concert, as well.

The cantata also will be performed at 7 p.m. Dec. 23 at 1351 E 33 in Edmond.

Both the exhibit and the concerts are free and open to the public.
