Here is a look at the 2012 season of the Texas A&M football team:
SEPT. 8 — LOST 20-17 VS. NO. 24 FLORIDA
TAMU led 17-7 midway through the second quarter, but was unable score after halftime. Florida rallied to spoil the Aggies' first SEC game and Johnny Manziel's first career start.
Sept. 15 — Won 48-3 at SMU
Manziel accounted for six total touchdowns (four passing, two rushing) and 418 total yards.
Sept. 22 — Won 70-14 vs. South Carolina State
Texas A&M scored 49 first-half points, including 35 in the second quarter alone. Manziel scored five first-half touchdowns.
Sept. 29 — Won 58-10 vs. Arkansas
Arkansas led 10-7 after the first, but the Aggies scored 20, 17 and 14 points in the remaining quarters to run away with their first-ever SEC win. Manziel threw for 453 yards and three touchdowns, and rushed for 104 and another score.
Oct. 6 — Won 30-27 at Ole Miss
Ole Miss led by 10 in the fourth quarter before Manziel led Texas A&M on two late scoring drives; he threw a 20-yard touchdown to Ryan Swope with 1:46 for the Aggies' go-ahead score.
Oct. 13 — Won 59-57 at No. 23 Louisiana Tech
Manziel accounted for six touchdowns, including two in the fourth quarter that helped Texas A&M fend off a massive comeback effort. Louisiana Tech scored 27 points in the fourth quarter, but came up just short.
Oct. 20 — Lost 24-19 vs. No. 6 LSU
Texas A&M led 12-0 midway through the second quarter, but LSU's defense held Manziel and the Aggie offense in check for most of the rest of the game. The freshman quarterback threw three interceptions and didn't score any touchdowns.
Oct. 27 — Won 63-21 at Auburn
Manziel threw two touchdowns and rushed for three. Texas A&M led 42-0 at halftime in the rout, which ended up being the first of two Aggies wins in the state of Alabama.
Nov. 3 — Won 38-13 at No. 15 Mississippi State
Manziel racked up 311 passing yards and rushed for 129. The Aggies' offense accounted for 693 total yards, which was nearly 400 more than Mississippi State mustered.
Nov. 10 — Won 29-24 at No. 1 Alabama
Texas A&M led the Crimson Tide 20-0 after the first quarter, but the defending national champions wouldn't go down easily. A 54-yard Bama touchdown pass cut the Aggies' lead to five with six minutes remaining, and Alabama drove to A&M's 2-yard line with under two minutes remaining. But Deshazor Everett picked off Bama quarterback A.J. McCarron in the end zone on fourth-and-goal to all but seal the Aggies' stunning upset, which vaulted Manziel to Heisman Trophy contention. He rushed for 92 yards, and passed for 253 and two touchdowns.
Nov. 17 — Won 47-28 vs. Sam Houston State
Manziel became the first freshman in NCAA history to pass for more than 3,000 yards and rush for more than 1,000 in one season in this win. He accounted for five total touchdowns; coach Kevin Sumlin let him attempt an extra-point kick, which he missed, in the second half.
Nov. 24 — Won 59-29 vs. Missouri
The two most recent Big 12 defectors met in both of their regular-season finales; Manziel and the Aggies rolled to a 42-7 halftime lead and easy victory, which wrapped up the freshman's Heisman Trophy campaign.
