“Bachelorette” star Ashley Hebert’s wedding to J.P. Rosenbaum will air on ABC Sunday night at 9 EST in a two-hour special — and Hebert confesses it wasn’t the Long Island-raised hunk she was thinking about when she sashayed down the aisle.
What was going through her mind?
“‘Wow, my train is so heavy. I’m not sure I can make it all the way up those steps,”“ Hebert divulged this week during a media conference call with Rosenbaum, apologizing to him for her pragmatic thoughts. “Babe, I’m sorry, but that was the truth. It was so heavy.”
In “The Bachelorette: Ashley and J.P.’s Wedding,” the duo who fell in love in 2010 during season seven of “The Bachelorette” come full circle, tying the knot with Bachelor franchise host Chris Harrison officiating.
The wedding of the couple’s dreams took place Dec. 1 at The Langham Huntington hotel in Pasadena, Calif. And let’s clearly define “wedding of their dreams”: Hebert’s dress was created by celebrity designer Randi Rahm from ideas Hebert picked on Pinterest. And when Rosenbaum, 35, and Hebert, 28, shared their first dance to Matt White’s “Love,” the pop artist performed it in person.
During the special, viewers will see the couple meet with wedding planner Mindy Weiss and enjoy bachelor and bachelorette parties in Scottsdale, Ariz. Other famed members of Bachelor nation — such as Sean Lowe, who stars in the upcoming season of “The Bachelor” and Emily Maynard — appear during the ceremony.
To what must have been the horror of producers, no drama occurred, according to Hebert. But there was plenty of romance and fantasy — other staples of the franchise.
“We got married under a chuppah. We broke the glass. We signed the Ketubah. I was wearing a yarmulke,” Rosenbaum said. Viewers might see Hebert and Rosenbaum exchange wedding gifts — he bought her a charm bracelet with a little dog on it (they have a Yorkshire terrier named Boo), a rose (um, Bachelorette fans, do we really need to explain this one?) and a toothbrush (she is a pediatric dentist, after all).
