Oklahoma customers of Cox Communications who have been unable to access emails since Friday have had their service restored, Cox Communications said early Monday.
As of 5:30 a.m. Monday, all customers should be able to send and receive email, the company said.
Cox spokeswoman Kristin Peck said the company has saved all email that was affected by the outage.
“They may continue to receive these queued emails over the course of the next several days. These will arrive gradually and may not be delivered in chronological order,” Peck said in an email.
The company said it is making changes to prevent such an outage from happening again, including replacing its email storage platform equipment.
“We will remain intensely focused on this effort until all queued email messages are successfully delivered,” Peck said. “Technical teams continue to be on high alert and monitoring systems closely.”
The outage, which began Friday, affected only residential customers.
“We deeply regret the impact this outage has had on our customers and truly appreciate their patience as all Cox resources continue to be focused on this restoration effort,” Peck said.
The company said it would provide another update about 2 p.m.
