State schools Superintendent Janet Barresi on Wednesday honored several Oklahoma students and schools for academic achievements.

Coweta Public Schools has been named to the 2012 Advanced Placement Honor Roll. It's one of about 500 school districts nationwide, but it is the only Oklahoma school district to receive the honor, Barresi said. The district boosted the number of students who could earn college credit through AP tests by 25 percent. The number of students taking AP exams is increasing as well.
