The Oklahoma County OHCE Genealogy Group's Cemetery Hopping Project will be Jan. 2 at the Old Pioneer/Benge Cemetery, weather permitting.

The cemetery is in the northwest corner of Spring Creek Cemetery, south of NW 150 and east of North County Line Road. The cemetery also can be reached by going west from Edmond on Memorial Road to North County Line Road, then north to Spring Creek Cemetery.

The Oklahoma Genealogical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Jan. 7 at the Oklahoma History Center, Chesapeake Event Room, 800 Nazih Zuhdi Drive.

Michael McCoy will present “Cemetery Research — What information is on the Web and Where?” Family History Research, www.familyhistoryresearch.net, provides information on cemetery research, tombstone rubbing and tombstone photography.

Other resources include Nancy Hendrickson's book “Family Tree Cemetery Research on the Internet” and “Your Guide to Cemetery Research” by Sharon Debartolo Carmack.

Society members will be available at 5 p.m. to answer research questions and assist family historians with their research. The Oklahoma History Research Library also is open until 7:45 p.m. For more information, go to www.okgensoc.org.
