Jail accused in misconduct

Another former female inmate has come forward with accusations of sexual misconduct in the Delaware County jail, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation reported Friday. The woman came forward after the multimillion dollar civil rights lawsuit was settled in November 2011, OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown said. The Delaware County Sheriff's Department was hit with a $13.5 million judgment after 15 former female inmates filed a federal civil rights lawsuit accusing former Sheriff Jay Blackfox of ignoring their complaints of sexual abuse by jailers. Blackfox was not accused of any sexual misconduct and denied any wrongdoing. The OSBI investigation is ongoing and investigators will hand over their report to special prosecutor Brian Hermanson, Brown said.
