I took a look at my first “middle-class” paycheck of 2013 and it was $48 less than two weeks ago. Since my wife works late into the evening on Thursdays, I usually take my two teenage boys out for a hamburger. For three guys it usually costs about $25. But being down about the new tax hikes, the ones that President Obama promised wouldn't happen, we stayed home. I made a pizza for them. Not as good, but it turned out OK.
